My name is Branden Sims I am 26 years old and I am addicted to off road racing and everything in between from wake boarding at the lake in the summer to hitting the slopes on my board in the winter, I love the outdoors. Off road racing has been my passion from the early age of 6 where I raced a quad in the “Whiplash Racing” organization.
Through out the years I dabbled in a few other racing disciplines including BMX, and downhill mountain biking. I returned back to my off road roots when I was presented the opportunity to race a pro quad in the 2006 Baja 1000 point to point race. In our first attempt at the race we finished the 1047 mile race in 6th place in the pro class. After that race I decided it was time to get off the quad and venture into the Utv scene. I purchased a Yamaha Rhino and we started the build at our shop.
I raced 2 different racing organizations in 2009 including the Whiplash racing series and the Grinding Stone series where I won the championship in both series in the Pro Utv class. 2010 I built an SR1 to race LOORRS and while I was out in Glamis testing the car I was involved in a severe accident during the 2010/2011 New Year holiday weekend. I was involved in a bad fire that put me in the ICU for 2 weeks and the hospital for a month. I was out of commission for about 6 months where I went through serious physical therapy.
After I rehabilitated I sold the SR1 and bought a 2012 Rzr Xp900. I was sponsored by Lonestar Racing for the suspension and they built me a suspension kit to race the 2012 KOH race along with Northern Arizona Atv & Off Road, Muzzy performance exhaust, Fox shocks, Factory Utv, and Snap On Tools. I am now fully recovered minus the visual scars and I have a car that is built and ready to handle the 2013 racing season.
I recently purchased a 2014 Xp1000 that I am building and looking forward to King of the Hammers 2014 and the Best in The Desert racing season.
